The fact that you are one of the few that rejects any form of separation in Islam today, iA shows that Allah has opened up your eyes, mind and heart & hopefully will continue to do so for you to find what being a true Muslim means to you. The purpose of Islam is to please Allah, just do w/e you believe will please Him. If you believe that we should remember Muharram out of respect of the Prophet's (saw) family & still respect his companions then who has any right to say ur wrong?
